What we collect, why, and your rights under UK data protection law. Last updated September 2026.

Who is responsible for your data

The Escort Archive (ford-escort.co.uk) is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. Contact us about anything in this notice at [email protected].

What we collect

We only collect personal data when you fill in the Buyer's Bible form:

  • Your first name and email address
  • Your situation (buying, owning or enthusiast), which you choose from a list
  • Whether you've agreed to receive occasional emails

We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we don't collect data from you in any other way.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To give you the guide you asked for, and to reply if you contact us. The lawful basis is our legitimate interests in running the site and responding to requests.
  • To send occasional emails about the site and guide updates, only if you ticked the box. The lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by emailing us. Every email will also tell you how to opt out.

We never sell your data or share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Who processes it for us

  • Web3Forms (web3forms.com) receives the form and forwards it to our inbox. Their privacy policy explains how they handle submissions.
  • Our email provider stores the emails we receive and send.
  • Our web host keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and pages requested, for security and to keep the site running.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards UK law requires, such as adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.

How long we keep it

We keep form submissions for up to 24 months after your last contact with us. If you withdraw consent for emails, we stop emailing you straight away and delete your details within 30 days, apart from a note that you've opted out so we don't contact you again.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We'll respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies and local storage

This site doesn't set any cookies. Our fonts are hosted on our own server, so your browser doesn't contact third parties such as Google to load them.

If you use the viewing checklist, your ticks are saved in your browser's local storage so they're still there when you come back. That data stays on your device, is never sent to us, and is only used for the feature you asked for. You can clear it in your browser settings at any time.

Our pages link to other websites, such as Wikimedia Commons for photo credits. Their privacy practices are their own.
